Smartek was founded in August, 1988 with the mission of bringing high-technology products to market in two areas: coatings and instruments. The company has fully-equipped lab facilities for product development and small-scale production of coatings and instruments. Smartek has proprietary coating technologies and patents related to instruments. It has collaborations with Syracuse University and SUNY Albany. Customers include the federal government, auto-makers, and a number of Fortune-500 companies.
